Balancing Penguins

We have been talking about winter animals, it was an opportunity for


children to learn about animals living in a winter environment. It was a fun
way to introduce penguins animals to children in this activity. Through this
activity, children would use popsicle sticks, penguins animal figures, and
plastic ice cubes. To build a tower or bridge, They used plastic ice cubes as
a foundation and then put a popsicle stick on top of ice cubes as to build a
tower, bridge and create all sorts of structures, After created a bridge, they
would put penguin toys on the top and made it balanced. Toddlers
extracted the penguins from their basket and carefully balanced them on
the bridge or tower they created.

The Balancing Penguins activity is a fun and engaging game that can
be great for children in several ways. Balancing Penguins activity involves
balancing and coordination, which helps to develop gross motor skills in
children. As they move the penguins around, they are also improving their
balance, posture, and overall physical coordination. Moreover, this activity
​encourages children to think strategically about how to balance the
penguins without causing them to fall. This can help develop
problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Also, This activity can be played
with their friends and teachers, which promotes teamwork and cooperation.
Children can learn to work together to balance the penguins.

During the activity, children learned a new vocab of “Penguins”,


and “企鵝”. They repeated after the ECE teacher said “企鵝”. J picked up
an orange penguin and said “orange”.
