The teacher will ask the students to guess what today’s topic is based on the
performed activity.

The teacher will introduce the topic “Strategies used for conducting an effective
interview”

An interview is a structured conversation where one participant asks questions,

and the other provides answers. In common parlance, the word "interview" refers
to a one-on-one conversation between an interviewer and an interviewee.

INTERVIEW STRATEGIES:
● Start Easy - Make your interviewee comfortable/relaxed and start with
short, simple questions.
● Ask the right questions - Use open-ended questions and prompts. Avoid
leading questions.
● Have a Conversation - Do not read a question from a page as it interrupts
the flow of conversation and seems artificial.
● Find an anecdote (small story) to illustrate your point for example “Tell me
about a time when.”
● Pay attention to details - write down important details--spelling, address,
ages, and statistics. Double-check the information.

The teacher will also discuss what are the things to prepare in conducting an
interview and the questions to be asked and avoided during the interview.

D. ABSTRACTION
The teacher will ask relevant questions to generalize the lesson and ask questions
about the different strategies for conducting an interview.

The teacher will also ask the things needed and the questions to be asked and
avoided during the interview.

E. APPLICATION
The teacher will give a situation and let the students formulate interview
questions.

You are tasked to interview a KPOP Star about what he/she thinks about the
Philippines as a tourist spot. During the preparation stage, what are the things
you need to prepare? List at least five questions that you will use in the interview.
IV. EVALUATION
The teacher will let the students find a partner. The other will make interview
questions and the other will answer them. They need to do it in front of the class.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Interview a family member. Copy the format you learned on your notes and try to
find a theme for your interview. Be sure to apply all the strategies you learned from this
lesson from preparation to the actual interview. You may ask your brother or sister to
take a video during your interview.
