To whom it may concern,

This is a personal letter of recommendation for Jenna Lombardo in reference to her application to your
dosimetry program.

I had the privilege of meeting Jenna in September of 2019 when she was accepted into the Radiation Therapy
Program at Nassau Community College. As both the Clinical Coordinator of the program, and as her professor
for courses such as Radiobiology, Oncology including treatment planning, and clinical instruction, I can say that
I have a very well rounded knowledge of Jenna and her potential. Jenna graduated in August, 2021.

Jenna stood out, right away, due to her eagerness to learn and her participation in class. Of course, excellent
grades soon followed! Jenna worked hard in her clinical rotations and studied well for her didactic courses.
Over time I began to hear, as you do if you are involved with your students, that Jenna was very genenerous
with her time and helped fellow students who were struggling. She did not brag about it, but I found out.
Needless to say, I was very impressed by this young woman, who was humble enough not to seek praise.

I wish to add to Jenna’s benefit a situation that had come up at one of her clinical rotations. Sometimes a student
may find him/herself with a ‘difficult’ therapist who gives them a very hard time. Some students will come to
me crying, or be completely rattled, but Jenna was able to navigate through the situation in a professional way,
and still learn, and deal with it. I actually didn’t even know about it till after graduation! She could have come
to me but I give her credit for her strength of character and her ability to make the situation work.

In addition, Jenna went through the program during Covid, which included Zoom classes for the first time. It
also included, for Jenna, two bouts with Covid 19! She was ill both times and had to miss days from clinic due
to bother her illnesses and the quarantine rules in place at the time. You remember it well, I am sure! Jenna had
to extend her clinical time to make up her days out due to Covid and she never complained, even once. Never!
Other students did complain and say it wasn’t fair, but not Jenna.

Knowing Jenna as I do, I can understand why she is so interested in becoming a dosimetrist. Jenna has excellent
critical thinking skills, and she loves a challenge. When she had the physics rotation that all seniors have before
graduation, she was so interested in it. That is what tweaked her interest in dosimetry the most. Dosimetry is
right up her alley after having studied radiation therapy, and now working as a radiation therapist.

It brings me joy to recommend Jenna Lombardo for your dosimetry program, you will not be disappointed!
Respectfully submitted,

Prof. Karen Santini
