MECL Code: EN2PA-Ia-c-1.1
III. Procedure
A. Introduction
Preliminary activities:
a. Begin with a prayer (optional).
b. Greet the students and create a welcoming atmosphere.
c. Set the standard for attentive listening and participation.
Ask students questions like, "Have you ever heard a dog bark?" or "What does a cat sound like?" to pique
their interest in the topic.
C. Modeling:
Show a picture of an animal (e.g., a dog) and play its sound. Ask the students to listen and repeat the
sound.
D. Guided Practice:
Divide the class into three groups (Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3).
Provide each group with a set of animal pictures and corresponding sound recordings.
Have each group take turns presenting an animal to the class. The group will display the picture, play the
sound, and ask the class to identify the animal sound.
Generalization:
After the guided practice, discuss as a class what they've learned about identifying animal sounds.
Create a chart or poster on the board with the names of animals and their sounds, and encourage students
to participate in filling it out.
E. Independent Practice:
Distribute worksheets with pictures of animals and blank spaces for students to write the corresponding
animal sounds.
In pairs or individually, students complete the worksheet.
Collect and review the worksheets to assess understanding.
Homework (Optional):
- Assign homework that involves listening to animal sounds online or at home and writing down
