E. MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF PRESSURE VESSELS RESPONSIBILITY

1. Always check for air leaks Artisan

F. JOB STEPS RESPONSIBILITY
LEVEL
1. Shut air supply to tank Artisan

2 Ensure working area is clear of tripping hazards and Assistant

4. Remove all outlets and pipes for oil residue (carbonised oil) Artisan

5. Check tank and pipes for oil residue. Artisan

6 Wash out tank with non flammable detergent Artisan

7 Blank all openings on tank Artisan

9 Pressure test tank to 11/2 times working pressure Artisan

10 Release pressure, fit safety valve and pressurise until valve Artisan
blows, log this reading.
11 Set safety valve to blow at 10 lbs above normal working Artisan
pressure.
12 Fit back all fittings and gauges Artisan

13 Make sure test tag is posted on tank Artisan


14. On completion clean up the area and place all waste cotton in Assistant
a bin.

G. PROHIBITIONS

1. Never use flammable detergent to wash the tank Artisan

2. Do not use the receiver without a relief valve. Artisan

3 Do not use the receiver without a marked gauge installed on Artisan

H. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS Artisan
Never use flammable detergent on air receivers to avoid an
explosion of the tank.
