FAYE GLENN ABDELLAH: 21 NURSING PROBLEMS THEORY:

The 21 Nursing Problems Theory of Faye Glenn Abdellah is mainly concerned with patient's
needs and the role of nurses in problem identification using a problem analysis approach. As a
future nurse, I will use the 21 nursing problems technique, to assess the patient, make a nursing
diagnosis and plan interventions.
For instances, a patient from a surgery would be put in our unit. The first thing that I will do is to
make her feel comfortable and for her to know that she is in good hands with me. I will make the
room as clean and hygienic as possible, and I will make sure that the patient knows that his/her
privacy is protected whenever she wants to go in the bathroom. Days after the surgery, i will try
to help her practice a 10 minute walk or exercise and make sure that she gets enough sleep or
rest. I will provide the patient food with great nutrients to maintain the body mechanism and to
lessen further complication that he/she might experience due to the operation. I will encourage
the patient to increase the water intake to avoid any urinary tract infection that might cause
discomfort.
Using the 21 Nursing Problems Theory of Faye Glenn Abdellah can provide an appropriate
framework to recognize nursing problems. It will help me in the future to know and perform the
right and effective way to practice care in a patient
VIRGINIA HENDERSON: NURSING NEED THEORY:
The theory focuses on the importance of increasing the patient's independence to hasten their
progress in the hospital. Henderson's theory emphasizes the basic human needs and how nurses
can meet those needs. As a future nurse, I will use this theory to attain patient independence so
that the patient will continue to progress after being released from the hospital.
For instances, a patient who attempted suicide was admitted in my unit.

NOLA PENDER: HEALTH PROMOTION MODEL

The Health Promotion Model focuses on helping people achieve a higher level of well-being
and providing health professionals with positive resources to help patients achieve behavior-
specific changes. As a future nurse, I can use this theory to plan for positively influencing health-
promoting behavior and promote healthy physical and interpersonal environment.
MADELEINE LEININGER: TRANSCULTURAL NURSING THEORY:

The theory TRANSCULTURAL NURSING THEORY focused on comparative cultural care (caring) values,
beliefs and practices of individuals or groups of similar or different cultures. As a future nurse, I can use
this theory to practice patient care with people of different culture, race, and ethnicity.

MARGARET NEWMAN: HEALTH AS EXPANDING CONSCIOUSNESS

The theory of health as expanding consciousness was stimulated by concern for those for whom
health as the absence of disease or disability is not possible. As a future nurse, I can use this theory
to guide clients in a process of pattern recognition so that they may know themselves more
intimately and gain the insights that support their evolution

ROSEMARIE RIZZO PARSE: HUMAN BECOMING THEORY

The Human Becoming Theory is a combination of biological, psychological, sociological,

and spiritual factors, and states that a person is a unitary being in continuous interaction
with his or her environment. As a future nurse, I can use this theory to teach, learn and
mentor with the end goal being to enhance the quality of your patients' lives.

JEAN WATSON: THEORY OF HUMAN CARING

The Theory of Human Caring provides a background for the idea that nursing is not just a practice;
but an attempt to provide care for a patient and bring them to optimal health as an individual. As
a future nurse, to create a caring and healthy environment for patients, and to promote positive
growth

IDA JEAN ORLANDO: DELIBERATIVE NURSING PROCESS THEORY

The Deliberative Nursing Process Theory focuses on the interaction between the nurse and patient,
perception validation, and the use of the nursing process to produce positive outcomes or patient
improvement. As a future nurse, I can use this theory to create an effective nursing care plan to meet
the immediate needs of patients.

ROZZANO LOCSIN: TECHNOLOGICAL COMPETENCY AS CARING

The theory of Rozzano Locsin is the only middle-range nursing theory that specifically addresses
technological knowing within the harmonious coexistence of nursing, technology, and caring. As a future
nurse, I can use this theory to be technologically competent and caring as a nurse.
