Bridging Work to Sixth Form Courses

Dear Parents and Students,
We hope you’re safe and well and you are making the time to learn new things.
The step-up from Key Stage 4 to Sixth Form study is often a challenging one. Over the interim
period until Year 11 students start their Sixth Form study, we are providing a number of tasks
and activities for them to complete as part of the transition from IGCSE to AS-Level and iBTEC
Level 3 course. Students are encouraged to complete the tasks that relate to the subjects that
they plan to study from September.
@Students: It was good to see many of you at the taster sessions. You may have received a
hard copy of the Bridge task along with instructions from your subject tutor. For the others
who missed the session, you will find below a list of activities that you can do to bridge the gap
between IGCSE and A Level/Level 3 courses and in each subject, you are thinking of taking.
These activities will keep your mind sharp, keep you thinking about your subjects and help you
not to forget the basic concepts already learnt.
Please note that your final confirmation of subject choices with us will be done after your
results are declared, subject to entry criteria and availability. Now is a great time to get the
essential knowledge, taste what Sixth Form is like.
Please don’t feel under pressure to attempt every task set but try and do a little something
each week in each subject.
What you need to do:
 Click on the subject link and download the subject files that you have opted for at AS levels.

Physics English Language Accounting Art & Design

Chemistry English General Economics Computer Science
Biology Psychology Business Info Tech
Mathematics Sociology BTEC Business Environmental
Management
Work on the task. The submission dates for these tasks are the first week of September.
Another task ‘Think Big, Think Creative’ is to be completed by all students.
 Check the AS Booklist document for reference books as recommended by Exam Boards. And
the Curriculum Booklet 6thForm Curriculum(22-24).pdf
In parallel with our academic activities, we will offer Skills16, a programme of study enrichment and
work-life experiences delivered by a range of external partners to ensure that students develop a
broad range of skills and attributes sought by future employers and universities. We ask you to
complete a short questionnaire so that we can learn about your interests and skills and provide you
with the best you need.
