I have always been into cars and bikes, like most boys, since childhood. Fascinated by these
machines on wheels, I have been guided often by the words “Cars are like rolling diaries, a
metal and plastics tableaux, every dent, every drooping slice of chrome, has a story behind
it”. My keen pursuit of automobiles had me transforming from an ardent fan, into a
professional taking it up as a career. I was curious to learn about all the aspects of vehicles in
the minutest detail. I graduated in Automobile Engineering from one of the old and reputed
institutions, known for its strength in the Department of Automobile Engineering as well.
Instead of joining an automobile firm in my hometown Chennai also considered to be the
Detroit of India, my dream was to engage further, go for advanced studies in Automobile
Engineering, and obtain a Master's degree from one of the best institutions in the subject,
such as yours.

In my undergraduate studies, much of the studies were on the design and manufacture of
vehicles, various engines, heat combustion, automobile chassis, etc. I was very keen to learn
more about the safety and environmental challenges, thrown up by the vehicles when they
became more advanced. Indian motor sector was also booming, with newer vehicles, and
newer technologies, at par with the rest of the world. I used to closely follow up on the
developments, and the challenges faced by them, that ultimately led to the project work that I
did.

The electric vehicle industry, even today is on a learning curve, although matters have
advanced substantially in a short time. A few years back there were repeated occurrences of
parked E-Bikes catching fire all of a sudden. I took up my project to see how best the weight
of an E-Bike could be reduced so that the distance range could be increased, along with an
attempt to suppress the occurrence of a fire. The project I should confess, did not, despite our
best and dedicated efforts, bring out the desired results. Time was short, and we encountered
problems in the design, the fabrication, and in containing the cost. However, I take the whole
experience as an invaluable input in my journey of learning.

My passion for the subject took away most of the extra time that I had, spent learning more
about automobiles and related subjects. I did not pursue an internship too as my experience
from the project was good, and I was keener to pursue my studies in an institution reputed for
Automobile Engineering, without delay.

My desire after obtaining the MS would be to be a part of one of the top automotive firms,
that would value the learning and the expertise I have gained. I would prefer to work with a
company embracing new thoughts and technology, and caring for a greener environment. I
hope to scale up the ladder through sincere and dedicated work and become a leader, on
merit. In senior positions, I hope to learn and master the business on a holistic level. In the
longer term, I hope to get into business in the same industry, possibly focusing on the
manufacture of critical components.
My dreams are wholly on wheels, and I am truly focused to become an influencer and bring
about positive changes to the automobile industry. Technology is fast changing, and I wish to
be part of the journey, and I believe you are the best vehicle to take me there.
