Elementary (Standards Based)


Creating A Gradebook
1. Click on Gradebook

2. Click on Add Gradebook


3. Name your gradebook according to content area

4. Select ALL three quarter(Trimesters)

5. Click Save. Then click the


Add Gradebook button near the top
of the screen and make your next
content area gradebook. (Repeat
until all gradebooks are made)
Note* - At this point you should have a gradebook for the following areas.

1. Math
2. Science
3. ELA (SLA or MLA)
4. Social Studies
5. Art
6. Behavior (if you wish to track it separately)
7. PE (Optional)
8. Homework (Optional)

THESE ARE JUST SUGGESTIONS and not required guidelines.


Setting Up Gradebook Options
6. Click on the “Options” tab

7. You can use these settings


to weight your grades.

8. You can copy these settings


to all of your gradebooks
using this button.
Setting Up Categories
9. You can do weighted scoring, but this is
VERY unpopular with K-5 educators.
Click the Add New Category button to start.

10. Name your categories.


Click Add New… button
to create more. Then
click Save.

category a unique color to
make it stand out more.

They deal with creating assignments
in the gradebook and are best done
once the gradebook is fully set up.
Adding Students to the Gradebook
26. When creating your gradebook you need to add your
students to your gradebook. Click on the “Manage
Students” tab
27. Click on the “Add Students” button
28. To add students start by selecting a gradebook

students one
by one or you
can click on
the “Add All
Students”
button to add
the entire class
with one click
Setting the Final Marks
30. Click on the “Final Marks” tab
31. To use the same grading
scale that is on the
report card click on
the “Restore School
Recommended
Defaults” button.
Narrative Grade Sets
32. Narrative grade sets allow you to
build custom grade scales for special
cases, but are not a necessity.
(Pass/Fail, Differentiated scales…)
Setting Up Gradebook Rules
33. Click on the “Rules” tab

Rules can be set up by using the dropdown menus to create


algorithms to automate actions such as dropping the
students’ two lowest quiz scores.
Backing Up Your Gradebook

34. Click on the “Backups” tab

Restoring/Reusing a Backed
up Gradebook

Adding Assignments

Adding Standards to Your
Assignments
In order for your gradebook
to auto-populate your report
cards you must assign at
least one standard to your
assignments.

20. Click on “Add Standard”

USING THE COMMON
CORE STANDARDS!
These are the standards
that will match the ones
on the report cards.
(To access DLIP standards use
the “Local” option)

22. You can search for


standards by using
their numbers.

23. Click “Add” to add the


standard to the assignment
24. If you have more than one standard and would like to
enter scores for each standard individually you need to
check this box

mind this total must
add up to the total
number of questions
on the assignment.
Entering Grades
40. To enter grades click on the “Scores by Class” option on the
blue menu bar near the top.
