• Past simple :
- Affirmative: most verbs add –ed to the base form of the verb.
- Negative : Subject + did or didn't + base form of the verb .
-Interrogative: Did + subject + base form of the verb .
- Short answers: Subject pronoum + did or didn't.
• Past continous :
-Affirmative :Subject+ was / were +not or n't + verb ending in –ing .
- Interrogative : Was/ Were + subject + a verb ending in –ing.
- Short answers : Subject pronoum+ was/were ( In affirmative)

Uses of the past simple and past continous :

• Use past simple for talk about actions in the past
• Use while or as with past continous to talk about actions
happening at the same time .
