At first I was really nervous because I think English is difficult in grade 9.

It is
difficult but if you will listen to the teacher and study you will understand it. In
first quarter we memorized the “13 Rules of Subject Verb Agreement”. I learned
from that is that subject and verb must always agree in number, not only does a
verb change its form to tell time, but it is also can change its form to indicate how
many subject it has.

In the second quarter our teacher gave us a performance task which is the voice
choir. It’s hard because some of our classmates are lazy. We need to memorize “I
HIGAONON” and we put some actions on it. We practiced every day and finally
got 3rd place, it was worth it at all.

In the third quarter we had a lot of performance task. The first one is one act play.
We act the “Romeo and Juliet” it’s not too difficult for us because we are given
scene to act. The second one is commercial ma’am taught us first what to use
when making a commercial. She first taught us how to apply faulty logic in
commercial, next is unsupported facts and the last one is emotional appeal. I was
really nervous and shaking on doing the commercial but I still did it.

In the fourth quarter we first make a letter. We make a letter for 2050 people. For
me it’s a little hard but I still tried and I still did it. I was glad after I make letter
because after that I learned a lot of things when making letter. Then next
performance task was making essay my teacher told us that there is a contest
about making essay and who ever got a nice essay had a prize, but only a few of
my classmates got approved. The last performance task we did is this portfolio
ma’am told us to put all our quizzes here and we will make a reflection on what
we have learned from first to fourth quarter. I learned a lot of things since the
first day because I learned how to use properly the subject verb. I learned how to
apply the faulty logic, unsupported facts, and emotional appeal. I am thankful for
what I have learned and I hope that I will learn more in English.
