Scars To Your Beautiful

This has been a theme song in my home since my daughter was diagnosed with vitiligo a few years ago.
It’s a strong and positively inspiring message, one that I can personally relate to. The line in this song that
has been my anchor is “you don’t have to change a thing; the world could change its heart”.
The lyrics are powerful, it’s a reminder that no matter how people see you, you are beautiful just the
way you are.
Our bodies come in all shapes, colors and sizes and we are certainly all unique in some way, form or
fashion. I do think that there are people who continue to bully and body shame others without remorse.
As a society I think that it is critical for us all to understand how our actions impact the emotions of
others.
Embracing ourselves for who we are and what we look like is integral in helping us to move through the
cycle of life. I believe that when we genuinely love ourselves and all our imperfections it’s easy for us to
see everyone in this world as beautiful!

This Is Me
This is another very inspiring song and video. Once you’ve accepted who you are, you have a right to be
accepted by society. For those people in the world who struggle daily with low self-esteem and social
anxiety, this song can be of immense encouragement.
As a young woman with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), I’ve struggled with weight gain and facial
hair for many years. There would be days when I would refuse to leave the house because I was always
conscious of how others would think I looked.
I believe that age brings a lot of maturity and reason and so I’ve learnt to accept my body for what it is,
not a perfect body.
This is yet another song and video that I can relate to and that has resonated with me. It’s truly
motivating and can help others with similar challenges to accept and be accepted for who they genuinely
are.
