BRIGADA ESKWELA 2022

GRADE 5 Narrative Report

The school is an institution which is responsible for molding the learners into
responsible individuals in society. This is where one is crafted into a better person,
who will be an emblem of the kind of learning center where he was raised. The
diverse concerns of school necessitate collaboration with others to complete
assigned tasks and objectives. These would need dedicated school personnel,
cooperative parents, an accountable community, and innovative learners.

Educators believe that the environment plays a big part in students’ learning.
As a result, education is hampered if classrooms are not conducive to learning due
to poor condition and some defective school facilities. The Department of Education
conducted this year’s Brigada Eskwela, also known as National Schools
Maintenance Week (DepEd Memorandum No. 62. S2022) from August 1 to 26,
where all educational stakeholders contributed their time, effort, and resources to
ensure that the school facilities are ready in time for the school opening.

The past two years of Brigada Eskwela have been very much different
compared to the past years due to the effect of COVID-19 pandemic. This year, we
are preparing our school for the face-to-face call after nearly three years of global
pandemic.

This year’s theme is “Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-aral” focused on

school rehabilitation, health protocols, psychosocial orientation, and most
importantly, health and sanitation preparation.

As early as July, the teachers of Rosa L. Susano – Novaliches Elementary

School recruited volunteers who would participate in the brigade. Parents, school
alumni, and other people from the community were encouraged to attend the weekly
long-term study program. Since no government fund was allotted for the said activity,
community partners like private business owners, non-government organizations,
private individuals, and other local governments were tapped to solicit donations to
cover the expenses for repair and maintenance of the school facilities.

Early morning of August 8, 2022, the teachers of Rosa L. Susano-

Novaliches Elementary School held the opening program with the presence
of different groups of volunteers. And prior to launching the program, a
short orientation about the mechanics of the 2-weeks activity was
spearheaded by the Brigada Coordinator, Mr. Mark U. Rosario. Finally, the
opening of the Brigada Eskwela was announced. The willing, ready, and
able brigade included eager teachers, enthusiastic parents, excited
students, and concerned members of the community.
Amidst the growing population of the school is the completion of the
school’s facilities to improve the learning status and physical development
around the vicinity of the school and still with the threat of COVID-19. The
goal of attaining of meeting the needs of learners. Yet, it’s a fact that they
shoulder responsibilities by making the institution a well-improved
destination to visit.
