TENSES:

-simple present (do/does, have/has + got) or future → future scheduled events

-simple past (did) → the action started and finished

-past perfect (had + participle) → an action that happened before another one
-present perfect (have/has + past participle) → experience, when doesn´t matter, started and hasn´t finished yet

-future:

will + verb (instant decisions, promises, predictions)

to be + going to + verb (based on evidence)

simple present as future (scheduled events): what time does the plane leave? It leaves at half past six.

present continuous as future: What are you doing tomorrow, I´m having lunch with my mother

present perfect continous as future (have/has + been + verb “ing”) → i´m having...later at night, complaining
(since, for)

future continuous (will + be + verb ing) / ACTION IN PROGRESS): by this time tomorrow, I´ll be traveling to
Paris.

future perfect (will + have + past participle / ACTION FINISHED): by november, I´ll have finished school

other future forms: I´m about to do this, to be on the point of doing something

CONDITIONALS:

zero: universal truth, habits, favour, command, result of a situation or action (if/when + present simple+ present
simple)

first: real situation or future possibility (if/unless + present simple + will/won´t/might)

second: unreal situation, imaginary, started in the past but still continues (if + past simple + would/could/might)

third: if I had seen tom, I would have called you.

PAST PERFECT would,could,might + have + past participle

PERFECTIVE (to put the modal verb in the past)

-Unreal situation in the past

-Regrets (If i had done my homework i would have gone to the party)

PASSIVE VOICE: the object becomes the subject (verb to be (any tense) + past participle)
-focuses on the action, not the person

-formal reports

-proceses, papers from science or medicine

ADJECTIVES ENDING IN ED / ING :

COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE:

1. double comparative → the sooner the better

2. irregular adjectives (comparative = compares two or more than two things)

comparative superlative

• good better (than) the best

• bad worse (than) the worse

• far further (than) the furthest

3. comparative (equality) → He is as tall as Mary

4. example → comparisons with adverbs (He works more efficiently)

5. too + adjective → He isn´t old enough to go out
