Adverbs of Frequency List


This list of adverbs of frequency contains many of the most common;
keep in mind though that there are many other words which can serve in
this capacity.

A. AOF come after verb TO be (am, is, are)

1. we are always in class. 2. Margareth is never angry. 3. I´m constantly learning. 4. That store is

B. AOF come after the negative form: not (be/isn´t, aren’t), don’t, doesn’t.

1. I´m not normally in my house. 2. Dasallan isn´t generally in Nueva Segovia. 3. They´re not
regularly sick. 4. I don´t frequently visit my family. 5. Carlos doesn’t rarely study English

C. AOF come after an auxiliary verb: (do/does/will/can/should/would/must/may)

1. Do you always study English? Yes, I do/No, I don’t 2. You can never cook well. My mom will
often be with us.

D. AOF come before the principal verb.

1. I always work from 7 am to 4 pm. 2. We sometimes play to have fun. Divertirse
