 BIS CERTIFICATION
BIS Certification is a means for providing a third-party guarantee of quality, safety, and reliability of
products to the customer. Generally, the BIS Certification is voluntary in nature. However, the
Government of India has made BIS certification mandatory for certain products taking into
consideration public health.
BIS has been providing traceable and tangible benefits to the national economy in a number of ways
– providing safe reliable quality goods; minimizing health hazards to consumers; promoting exports
and imports substitute; control over proliferation of varieties etc. through standardization,
certification and testing.
The Product Certification Schemes of BIS aims at providing Third Party assurance of quality, safety and
reliability of products to the customer. Presence of BIS certification mark, known as Standard Mark,
on a product is an assurance of conformity to the specifications. The manufacturer is permitted to self
certify the licensed products after ascertaining its conformity to the Standard. Through its
surveillance operations, the Bureau maintains a close vigil on the quality of certified goods. The
conformity is ensured by regular surveillance of the licensee’s performance by surprise inspections
and testing of samples, drawn both from the market/factory.
 IRIS CERTIFICATION

IRIS is the International Railway Industry Standard, which is sponsored by UNIFE (European Rail Industry
Association) and is largely acknowledged by railroad stakeholders like system manufacturers
and railroad operators. based on the widely accepted ISO/TS 22163:2017 standard, which has
particular application specifications for rail organizations. IRIS is moving the milestone to become an ISO
technical standard in addition to the ISO 9001 quality standard.

and dependability of infrastructure, signaling, and rolling stock.

NEEDS FOR IRIS CERTIFICATION. IRIS certification is attained through a six-step process.
In order to obtain IRIS certification, the organization must first request it. The organization must
do the following in order to receive IRIS certification
 R2 Certification
The term "R2" refers to a standard that Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI) specifically developed for the electronics
recycling sector. The R2 Standard: Responsible Recycling Practices for Use in Accredited Certifications Programs was created by SERI, a
housing organization that is also an ANSI-accredited Standards Development Organization.

Participants in the development of these standards include the U. S. Electronics recyclers, refurbishers, and their trade associations,
OEMs/customers of electronics recycling services, non-governmental organizations, regulators from state agencies, the Environmental
Protection Agency (the EPA was in charge of a study of the implementation of the R2 standards).

R2 was released in 2008 after the standards had been accredited by ANAB. The standards and guidelines for R2 Certification have been
made available in five different languages and are global in scope. The R2 Certification currently uses the R2:2013 standard. This
standard is currently being reviewed as of early 2020 and is anticipated to be reissued with updates within the following year.

The R2 Certification's provisions include the following.

Environmental, health, and safety management systems are a requirement for all R2 Certified recyclers. Examples of
acceptable EHS systems include ISO and RIOS.

Reuse and Recover Hierarchy of Responsible Management Strategies - R2 certified recyclers must have a written policy pledging to
prioritize Reuse and Recovery options for material before considering less desirable solutions like incineration and landfilling, which is only
allowed "if no reuse or recycling options are viable. ".
 BEE MARKING APPROVAL
Quality Solutions is a leading in getting approval for BEE star rating .The full form of BEE is the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. BEE
was established by the Government of India on March 1, 2002 under the provision of Energy Conservation Act, 2001. With the
world facing major departmental calamities of climate change and global warming, there was a need to regulate the emission
of Co2 in the environment. Renewable sources like solar and wind energy are identified as capable climate-friendly energy
sources of no Co2, these sources have not reached a stage where they can completely replace our existing electricity generation
methods. Hence, the BEE was created with a mission to form policies and develop constructive strategies with an intend of self-
regulation and marketing principles to achieve energy efficiency.
The BEE star rating can be mandatory as well as optional depending on the type of appliance. For instance, Refrigerators, air
conditioners, washing machines, and geysers are eligible for a mandatory label of BEE star rating.
On the other hand, appliances with a little impact on power consumption may not compulsorily need this rating. For example:
Air coolers, tube lights, fans, etc.
Star labelling of appliances is one of the most cost effective policy tools for improving energy efficiency and lowering energy
cost of appliances/equipment for the consumers. This program aim to foster a sustainable “market transformation” by shifting

better choices and see the potential ongoing future costs and greenhouse gas impacts our decisions may have. Energy labels,
on the other hand, are the informative labels affixed to manufactured products in order to provide consumers with the data
