1. What is the most important effect of technology discussed in the article? Explain your answer.
The author discusses how advancements in technology have affected how individuals communicate over time. Technology
has altered not only our personal life but also the way we communicate at daily tasks. Technology is used by individuals to
communicate with one another.

2. What is the notable negative effect of technology discussed in this article? Exlain your answer.
We humans were less likely to be engaged in nature as a result of the negative consequences of technology. Where people are
more likely to look at their devices than the beauty of the surroundings. They frequently ignore the outside world in favor of
the technologies.

3. Explain: Conversation - - - - Connection - - - - Isolation


Sherry Turkle’s article, “The Flight from Conversation,” explores how technological improvements have caused simple
connections to take the place of meaningful conversation. Sherry Turkle believes that people are losing the freedom to be
distinctive individuals capable of engaging in conversation with others outside of an electronic gadget every day. It causes the
person to become isolated by making them hide from the outside world and concentrate on their technology, they dissociate
themselves from others because they are concentrating on numerous connections at once.

4. Explain: The little devices most of us carry around are so powerful that they change not only what we do, but also
who we are.
Our lives were altered by the recent technologies to us at the time, particularly in terms of how we thought, felt, and valued
things. We end up focused on social media events instead of the perspectives of our life because of the constant access to
gadgets. Everything is now at our fingertips due to technological improvements, which makes life a little easier and
interesting.

5. Why is it entitled flight from conversation?


Sherry Turkle explores how people prefer using technology for communication over face-to-face interaction in her article
“The Flight From Conversation.” We no longer need conversational skills for connection; instead, we use texting and media
platforms. According to Turkle, we have changed the way we talk by learning to be “alone together,” much like how
airplanes are alone in the sky yet connected by GPS and radar.
