BPT Lesson Plan
Lesson Idea
☐ Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.
☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.
☐ Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.
I think that for the start of the lesson could be introduced with asking students what they
know about different animals’ life cycle. Then I could present mine to the class and show
mine as an example. Then from there they can draw pictures and upload them or find them
on the internet. Then at the end of the week I want students to show us their presentations
and then we as a class will write down notes about the student’s presentations to keep track
of what we learn.
Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
For the first 5 min. I will have students tell me what they already know. Then my presentation
should take max 10 min. Have students’ discussion what they learned after and then have
students write what they learned about in my presentation. Then have students pick an
animal they would like to do their presentation on (5 min.). Then Students will start to outline
and research on the animal and then presentation. (30 min.) Then at the end of the week
share.
