    CDS Personal Electronic Device Guidelines 2022-23


    These are the expectations around student use of personal electronic devices at CDS for Middle Level
    Grades 6 – 8. Please read these guidelines carefully.

    Students may not use personal electronic devices:


    ❏ In locker rooms, washrooms or office

    ❏ In the classroom or other areas used for instruction unless given permission and supervised by
    the teacher.

    ❏ To take pictures or videos at any time or in any area of the school (including the playground or
    bus) without the permission and supervision of a staff member.

    Students may use personal electronic devices only:

     During the early morning recess, snack recess and lunch recess.

    1st offense- device is brought to the office. The student may collect his/her device at the end of the day.

    2nd offense- Device is brought to the office. The student may collect his/her device at the end of the
    day. Additionally, parents/guardians will be contacted and incident will be recorded in PowerSchool.

    3rd offense and beyond-The student will receive an office referral and the device will be turned in to the
    office. The student may collect his/her device at the end of the school day. Parent/Guardian(s) will be
    contacted. The student will not be permitted to use device for 5 days. Incident will be logged by
    Administration in PowerSchool.

    ❏ Refusal to give up the electronic device will automatically result in the 3rd offense.
    ❏ Further infractions will result in longer loss of privileges.
