Treasure of Lemon Brown

W.D.P Prompt

Answer the following prompt with three pieces of text evidence

in a 7-10 sentence, typed, W.D.P:

Choose either Greg or Lemon Brown, then explain whether that character is Static or
Dynamic. Support your answer with evidence(minimum three quotes) from the text.

In “The Treasure of Lemon Brown,” Greg is a dynamic character due to being

pertinacious at the beginning, but at the end being kind. A great way to show this is the way he
treats Lemon Brown because at the beginning he is pertinacious towards Lemon Brown by
claiming he has no treasure instead of running away. To, Prove, “I’m not looking for your
treasure,” Greg answered, smiling. “If you have one.”(Treasure of Lemon Brown, P3) By the
middle of the Story Greg as said before can still be seen to be pertinacious, but he starts to be
nicer to Lemon Brown. A great example is when Greg asks, “They were talking about treasures,”
Greg said. “You really have a treasure?”(P6) This shows that Greg was still a bit pertinacious by
asking if he has treasure but does not do it in a pertinacious way which meant he changed. At the
end, he is no longer pertinacious, and is kind to Lemon Brown as a friend instead. A great quote
to show this is at the end where instead of doubting his treasure, and as Lemon Brown puts it
“the foolishest questions”(P6), instead he says, “You sure you’ll be OK?” Greg asked. This
shows how Greg improved by First being pernicious, and now not being that, and looking out for
Lemon Brown instead. To end, at first Greg doubted Lemon Brown's treasure, but by the end, he
decided that he saw Lemon Brown's treasure, and decided to be a friend.
