The four main sections to the small hydraulic hammers are listed below:
The low pressure accumulator (1) is bolted to the top of the control valve (3). The low pressure
accumulator (1) stores energy on the lifting cycle. The energy from the low pressure accumulator
(1) is released during the firing cycle.
The high pressure accumulator (2) is bolted to the front of control valve (3). The high pressure
accumulator (2) protects the hydraulic system of the host machine from pulsation.

Control Valve
(6) Spring
(7) Shims
(9) Plug
The control valve (3) rests on cylinder (13). The control valve (3) regulates oil pressure in the low
pressure circuit. The control valve (3) can be adjusted by removing shims (7) or adding shims (7).
The following components are included in the control valve (3) : valve spool (5), spring (6), shims
(7), spring housing (8) and plug (9).

The following components are part of the hydraulic hammer group (4) : tie rods (10), oil distributor
(11), piston (12), cylinder (13), thrust ring (14), upper tool bushing (15), the head (16), lower tool
bushing (17), tool retaining pin (18) and retaining pin for lower tool bushing (19) .
Several of the components in the hydraulic hammer group (4) are located in the head (16). The
following components are located in the head (16) : thrust ring (14), upper tool bushing (15),
lower tool bushing (17), tool retaining pin (18) and retaining pin for lower tool bushing (19) .
The lower tool bushing (17) and the upper tool bushing (15) provide alignment between the tool
and the piston (12). The lower tool bushing (17) is secured in the head (16) by a retaining pin
(19). The thrust ring (14) prevents internal damage to the hydraulic hammer group by dissipating
shock loads from the tool into the head (16).
