HAZARDS

1. CYCLONE - The weather of a particular


location can show signs of the
approaching tropical cyclone, such
as increasing swell, increasing
cloudiness, falling barometric
pressure, increasing tides, squalls
and heavy rainfall.

2. FLOODS - Check your local weather channel


for updates if there have been
recent floods or if there has been a
lot of rain, which could indicate
flooding. Another sign is if the
manholes in your streets are
overflowing or have water seeping
out of them.

- Because of its location, Northern Luzon is considered at very high risk to typhoons.
- Central Luzon and Southern Visayas are considered at high risk to typhoons.
- Eastern Visayas, Mindoro, and Northern Visayas are considered at medium risk to typhoons.
- Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas are considered at very low risk to
typhoons.
- Western Mindanao, Southern Mindanao, and Southeastern Mindanao are considered at low
risk to typhoons.
