Grade 8 (A/B)

You are expected to submit an English project for the first semester. It is about 2
interesting short stories.

Please follow these steps:

1) Read these two short stories carefully:

 A Visit to Grandmother by William Melvin Kelley

2) Answer the following questions in bulletin points in a power point presentation

form. Include about eight slides.

 Discuss the exposition (setting – characters – hint at the conflict) and

resolution of A Visit to Grandmother.
 Discuss the internal and external conflict in A Visit to Grandmother.
 Discuss TWO major themes in One Thousand Dollars giving TWO pieces
of evidence from the story supporting each theme.
 Change the ending of ONLY ONE of the two stories.

Be reminded:
 This is an individual project, so you can’t ask for anyone’s help.
 Your project should be well-designed and decorated.
 You can post any related pictures.
 Plagiarism is not allowed.
