Activity Outcomes:
By the end of this hands-on session, you should be able to:
 Show steps to add roles and features of DFS management.
 Create the DFS namespace and DFS replication in Windows Server 2019.
Prerequisites:
In order to complete these tasks, students need to have a Windows Server 2019 and
Windows 10 Enterprise Evaluation in VMware or VirtualBox installed.

BACKGROUND / SCENARIO:
Kinrara Sdn Bhd is a new E-Commerce company. They request to have virtual files distributed across different
locations and organize them together into a logical tree. You as a Network Administrator suggest them to use
Microsoft’s Distributed File System (DFS) services. With this service, the company will have single point of
reference for all the resources within their organization. DFS consist of two components, namely Namespace
and Replication. For that, you will do the following configuration task:-

REQUIREMENT TOOLS:
 Personal Computer or any device with at least dual-core Intel i5 or i7 CPU (Or AMD) and Virtualization
Support.
 At least 8GB FREE memory (16GB or 32GB is best) on the host operating system.
 VMWare/VirtualBox application as a platform to running Windows Server 2019.
 Windows Server 2019 Volume License ISO media or 180-day evaluation media.
 Windows 10 Enterprise Evaluation.
