Case Study

Research questions :

1. What are the data entities that are needed to be represented in

Conceptual data model of the institutional library?
2. What are relationships between data entities (such as books, users and
ect….)?
3. What are the rules to be applied on Conceptual data model for accurate
user management?
4. How can the Conceptual data model is translated into Physical data
model?
5. How is the Conceptual data model is secured?
6. What is the role of librarians in managing Conceptual data model?
7. How can Clinical data model is integrated into Conceptual data model?
8. What are the specific requirements in Conceptual data model?
9. What are the pros and cons of the Conceptual data model in institutional
library?
10. How can the data model support user authentication?

Case :

The case is to study on the development of data models for an institutional

library. The study aims at considering a practical case of Clinical data
modelling. The study is expected to carry out an investigation into several
components of Conceptual Data Model of institutional library, developing a
block diagram or Data flow diagram of Conceptual model and preparing a
report on the findings, summarize and state the possible future work on the
same topic.
Analysis :
1. Assessment needs and User-centric approach:
The first step is to conduct assessment, that is to conduct a survey and
interview with library staff and users.
2. Stages of Data modelling:
The next steps is to go through a phased approach. Those are
conceptual, logical, and physical models, reflects a structured
methodology.
3. Integration of system:
Now integration of libraries data models with external devices is
required.
4. User interface enhancement:
Now the task is to design a user-friendly interface and conduct a
usability test.
5. Measurable results:
This case study provides a clear evidence of the positive outcomes
resulting the development of data models.

Report :

Introduction:
This case study presents the process and outcomes of developing data
models for an institutional library. The library serves as a resource hub
for students, faculty, and etc.. The initiative was taken to modernize the
library’s systems and align them with technologies and user
expectations.

Objectives:
1. Improve accessibility and discoverability
2. Enhance efficiency
3. Integrate with digital technologies
4. Enhance user experience

Methodology:
1. Assessment needs
2. Data modelling
3. Data standardization
4. System integration
5. User interface enhancement

Result:
Accessibility improved, efficiency enhanced, integration with digital
technologies, scalability, user experience improved.

Conclusion:
The development of data models for the Institution Library is
successfully achieved its objectives, resulting in improved accessibility,
enhanced efficiency, and improved user experience. This case study
serves as an example to the positive impact of modernizing library
systems through data modaling.
