with cameras, manage legal information, create crime maps, and understand criminal behavior.
This technology makes fighting and preventing crimes more effective.

2. Name at least 4 uses of ICT in our daily lives and explain.

• Communication: ICT enables instant communication through methods like smartphones,

email, and social media. We can connect with friends, family, and colleagues regardless of
distance.

• Forensic Technology: ICT plays a crucial role in forensic science, aiding in the analysis of
digital evidence like computer files, mobile phone records, and cybersecurity threats. It helps in
solving cybercrimes and understanding criminal behavior.

• Surveillance and Security: ICT is used to develop and manage surveillance systems, including
CCTV networks and facial recognition technology, enhancing crime detection and public safety.

• Criminal Justice Administration: ICT systems are essential for managing criminal justice
databases, case tracking, and court proceedings. This improves the efficiency and transparency of
the legal process.

3. Give 5 positive impacts and 5 negative impacts of ICT in the society.

POSITIVE IMPACTS
1.) Improved Communication: ICT has revolutionized communication, making it
faster and more accessible. People can connect globally, enhancing relationships
and facilitating business interactions.
2.) Access to Information: ICT provides easy access to a wealth of information and
educational resources. It promotes learning, research, and knowledge-sharing,
benefiting both students and professionals.
3.) Enhanced Education: ICT in education allows for online learning, access to
educational resources, and interactive teaching methods. It provides opportunities
for lifelong learning and skill development.
4.) Accessibility: ICT tools can be adapted to suit the needs of students with
disabilities, making education more inclusive and accessible to a wider range of
learners.
5.) Online Government Services: The government offers services on the internet, so
people can easily pay their bills, get permits, and talk to local officials without
having to go to a government office in person.

NEGATIVE IMPACTS

1.) Social Isolation: Excessive screen time and reliance on digital communication
can lead to social isolation and reduced face-to-face interactions, impacting
mental health and relationships.
2.) Cybersecurity Threats: As ICT advances, so do cybercrimes. Hackers can
compromise sensitive data, disrupt critical infrastructure, and engage in online
fraud.
3.) Addiction to using technology: Using technology too close to bedtime may
cause issues with sleep.
4.) Health Issues: Often use of technology may lead to various health issues. For
example, too much use of technology can damage our sight/eyes.
5.) Reduced Social Interaction: Addiction in using technology can lead us to have
fewer opportunities for face to face social interaction, which is crucial for social
and emotional development.
