3. Answer six (6) questions from Section (A). Number one is compulsory.
4. Candidates are also require to answer & any three (3) questions from Section (B)
5. The total marks for this Paper is 60 marks.
6. All questions must be answered in the answer booklet provided
7. Please ensure that your number your questions correctly.
8. Clearly write the number of the question on each of the relevant pages.
9. Where questions have multiple parts, all parts must be answered.

SECTION A
Short Answer - This Section Values 15 Marks
Candidates are required to answer question number 1 (compulsory) and any other five (5)
questions from this section.
(1) Define Psychology then say how the field of Psychology differs from Psychiatry. (5marks)
(2) Explain the concept Pseudoscience as it relates to Psychology. (2marks)
(3) Explain the function of the pituitary gland in the brain relative to behaviour.(2 marks)
(6) Differentiate between the tasks of memory and the stages of memory(2marks)
(7) Briefly explain the Socio-cultural perspective of Psychology discussed in class.(2 marks)
SECTION B
ESSAY (not less than a page and a half for each) - This Section Values 45 Marks
Answer any three (3) questions from this section
1) Highlight and discuss four (4) ethical issues that should be considered when conducting
Psychological Research. (15 Marks)
2) Highlight a major disorder studied in this course; describe the disorder, discuss its causes,
signs and or symptoms, make sure to include its treatment modalities. (15marks)
4) Discuss the controversial issue surrounding nature and nurture and their impacting concepts
on personality development. (15marks)
5) Describe and discuss the Scientific method used in Psychological research. (15marks)
