identity using agency protocol.
• Explain to the client what you are
going to do, why it is necessary, and
how he or she can participate, being
particularly sensitive to any
embarrassment displayed by the
client.

PROCEDURE• Perform hand hygiene and observe
other appropriate infection
prevention procedures.
• Provide for client privacy by drawing
the curtains around the bed or
closing the door to the room.
• Adjust the bed to a comfortable
working height to (prevent back
