We wear our orange shirts

to let everyone know
that every child matters
and deserves to grow old.

Schools should be places

where every child is safe;
where they feel they belong,
not judged just on their race.

We wear our orange shirts,

on this day of all days,
to grieve for the children
buried in thousands of graves.

Let us never forget

the past wrongs that were done;
hold on to that knowledge
and move forward with love.
