The voice behind the text is the poet himself, Carlos Angeles. Born on May 25,
1921, in Tacloban City, Leyte. Carlos Angeles was an active member of the UP
Writers Club. He has an award-winning poetry collection called "A Stun of
Jewels" which consists of 47 poems.
In "Gabu," Carlos Angeles invites readers on a journey to the sea, where the
unfamiliar become familiar, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Through
his skillful use of language and imagery, Carlos Angeles challenges our
perceptions and invites us to explore the depths of our own existence. It is
through this exploration that we can find a reflective meaning and wisdom.
