DRTP Enquirement Saudi UAE Medical Residency
Medical Education & Research Department (MERD) is pleased to announce the commencement of DRTP registration processes for
Medical Graduates:
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be graduates from Medical schools listed with WHO (https://search.wdoms.org/).
A recognized Internship Program of minimum one-year duration, subject to it being succeeding the Bachelor’s Degree, without any
abruption in the duration.
Duration since Bachelors & Internship until application to DRTP to not exceed 5 & 4 years respectively.
English language Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL= 550 or above / IELTS Academic = 6 or above/ OET= 300 (C+)).
Non-nationals are required be on Residence visa, holding a valid Emirates ID.
Attestation of Medical Degree & Internship Certificates for those issued outside UAE is to be undertaken from:
- UAE Embassy of the issuing country.
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in UAE.
- Certificate of Equivalence from Ministry of Education UAE (MOE).
Primary Source Verification (PSV) Report for all certificates.
Successfully passing the Emirates Medical Residency Entrance Examination (EMREE) for medical and Emirates Dental Residency
Entrance Examination (EDREE) for dental conducted by College of Medicine & Health Sciences (CMHS) at UAE University, Al Ain
– UAE, prior to initiating application with DRTP. (The only exam accepted to apply for Residency in UAE, For more details, please

Candidates should not have been out of clinical practice for more than 12 months at any point (Excluding the national service for
locals or interruption due to Covid-19)
Recognized Bachelor Dental Degree (BDS/DDS) of minimum 5 years duration. - One-year internship training or equivalent from a
recognized Training Institution
