    1. Know your Audience - Effective persuasive communication addresses the


    audience's needs, values and desires.

    2. Get the Audience's Attention - You must first grab attention of the audiences
    and demonstrate why it's worth their time to listen to your idea or
    suggestion.
    3. Establish Credibility - To persuade an audience, you must demonstrate
    your credibility and authority.

    doesn't necessarily persuade when delivered verbally.
