My Bayanihan Experience

Share instances where you were a part of a Bayanihan experience.

Bayanihan is so common here in the Philippines. But one of the most unforgettable Bayanihan that
I’ve experienced was when our baranggay held an activity which we people or individual of our
community help each other to clean the environment of our baranggay. We people or our baranggay
are together in all of the activities that can improve and provide a betterment of our community.

What knowledge, skills, and/or abilities have you applied that have helped during these instances?

The knowledge, skills, and abilities that I applied that helped me during this activity is the knowledge
on how I should properly segregate. And also, I am a fast learner, I can learn something in just
watching what they're doing. And that results to a better outcome on what I should be doing.

What was the most important lesson that you have learned from your Bayanihan experience?

I learned that the task is easier to finish if all of you work together as one. I also learned that
bayanihan can build a deeper relationship with everyone which can help the community to have a
friendly and a peacefulness. I also learned not to be selfish and always be a good example to others.

What can you do to further contribute and show your love and commitment to the Filipino
community?

What I can do is to further contribute and show my love and commitment to the Filipino community
is I always open my hand and offer help to those who need it. If there is bayanihan again or some
activity that can help our community I will gladly join them and help them accomplish the activity.

Why is it important to be actively involved in the Filipino community?

It is important to be actively involved in the Filipino community because it will improve your way of
life, help you get to know your neighborhood, and introduce you to concepts and individuals who will
have a positive influence on how you see the world for the rest of your life. You have the chance to
develop yourself and gain a better understanding of how you fit into the world by giving back to your
community.
