There are two possibilities about the existence of life on other planets:

1) Life to have been developed only once in our Universe during the time of its
existence and that happened to the Earth.
2) Life is being developed according to our limited observations, about 1 time per
10 planets or even more frequently.
We consider that if a conscious Creator exists, he didn't tend to give life to one
planet only. Nothing supports such an assumption. Besides, our observations are so
limited that we cannot be any sure that this is really happening. So, if the Earth
is the only planet with life, that should be happening because life is an extremely
difficult and improbable procedure and not because there was a plan for this
outcome.
Some scientists think that they may be about 10^20 planets capable to support life
in our Universe. This number is only indicant and doesn't have to be too accurate.
While there is no special reason for the Earth to be the only planet with life and
while we don't know how difficult it is for life to be formed in any planet, the
possibility for this to happen only to the Earth is about 1 to 10^19. Thus, it is
quite sure that planets that formed life sometime in the Universe are more than
one.
