Embedded System Engineer (Intern+FTE)

Morphle Labs Inc.

Bangalore HQ

The Company
Morphle Labs is a YC-funded startup by IIT alumni building Medical Devices for cancer
diagnostics. We are a team of 50+ highly-energetic folks based out of Bangalore.

We have achieved high revenue growth across India (market leader) + USA & a sparse customer
base across Europe, Southeast Asia & Middle east.

We have generated a large IP portfolio & an amazing engineering culture as a byproduct owing
to the strong technical leadership & amazing folks who joined hands during the journey.

Our Products
We design, manufacture & sell products that are highly scientific in nature.
Our products Morpholens & Hemolens offer fully digital diagnostics workflows for cancer
biopsies & blood-related disorders across all geographies. Our products are unique inventions
across physics, robotics, computer vision & software workflows specifically designed for Doctors
/ Labs & Hospitals across the globe.

We are building a robotics-enabled digital diagnostics platform for Pathologists, Medical

Institutions & Cancer Research Centers.

The Role
Embedded system design is not a trivial plug and play process. It involves a meticulous understanding of
the core requirements and deriving solutions that fit within a scalable architecture. An understanding of
how hardware interacts with software is built and the merits of interdisciplinary solutions are debated.
This allows for solutions where hardware and software development go-in sync. An agile cycle of Risk
Analysis and Mitigation, Prototyping and Validation, Manufacturability and Quality Control are key to
prosper in the medical device industry. It is a fine balance of high execution speed, reliable design and
scalable architecture.

Develop robust frameworks for controlling motion, fluid, and thermal systems in sync

Work closely with the hardware team to understand the limitations of the systems, and
contribute to brainstorming sessions to overcome the same via hardware/software

Understand the concept of risk, and implement risk mitigation strategies via software control.

Simulate the system in silico and rapidly test workflows

Develop System Architectures that allow for expansion such as multi-device control or
integration of a new component at breakneck speed without breaking the system

Actively leading R&D projects for improving sub-systems as well as integration of new
technologies and sensors as per recent trends in technology

Developing quality testing protocols and test setups for developed hardware to assist in
streamlined production

Responsible for improving product reliability and fault tolerance

Ownership for providing Software Design solutions, bringing new methods/technologies,

accountability for technical directions, strategic initiatives, and a high degree of innovation.

Ideal Candidates
An undying passion for novel robotics to work at the intersection of Medical Diagnostics and
Hardware by leveraging Software

Bachelor's degree in CSE/EE/ECE/Mech with a great command over software technologies

Previous experience in Robotic Software Development is a must

Previous experience in communication technologies such as I2C, SPI, USB Serial, CAN interfacing
with different kinds of hardware is a must
Fluent in C++/Python/Java

Previous experience in technologies such as ROS is a plus

Ability to identify relevant open source projects, and integrate/modify them for use in our
application.
