Coverage: Units 5-8
Questions 1 to 4: 10 marks each Total 40 marks (10 % towards your CW)
Question 1 Unit 5 Waves
Define wave and the two types of waves. Be able to find the speed, wavelength and frequency of waves. Study the speed of waves due to tension. Also, learn to define each parts of a wave for example: Wavelength, Amplitude etc. Differentiate between two types of interferences.
Examples 5.1, 5.2, 5.4
Activity 5.1-# 1, 5.2, 5.4 Tutorials 1, 3-8
Question 2 Unit 6 Sound Waves
Study on Intensity and sound intensity level, effect of temperature on speed of sound in air, Doppler Effect, Shock waves + Boundary Behavior from U5
(Section 6.6), standing waves on air column (section 6.10-case 2).
Learn about Coulombs law, when are forces attractive or repulsive (direction of force), Electric field and direction of electric field. Note that electric field and force are vector quantities, thus go over superposition principle for both. Examples 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4 Activity -7.1 - 7.4 Tutorials 4, 7, 8, 9
Question 4
Unit 8 Electric Energy and Capacitance
Study about electric potential, electric potential energy, equipotential surface and parallel plate capacitors. . Examples 8.1, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5, 8.8, 8.9 Activity 8.1 #1, 8.3 - #2, 8.4- 1, #4, 8.8, 8.9 - #2, #3 Tutorials 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 14, 16 Go over the lecture notes, examples and test yourself questions.
