We have decided to embark on a plan that will speak to students literacy skills.
With this in mind our action plan will speak to motivation (websites of interest). Using strategies that will provide scaffolding, in the form of guided
reading, shared reading and writing. It is hoped that this holistic approach will in cooperate the different reading skills right across the content areas.
Parental involvement will also be encouraged through parents’ conferencing via WhatsApp group, Zoom and Google Suite which has been created.
It is my hope that reading with and to them on the relevant platforms will motivate and build their self-esteem improving their overall performance
enabling them to become lifelong learners.
Professional Development:
- To develop the patience, zeal and humour in dealing with the various learning styles, behavioural problems and needs of individual students.
- To develop a mutual relationship among parents; in order to better understand the pupil’s socio-culture background, so as to better able to apply
the right strategies for dealing with their “short-coming”.
Objective 1: By the end of the year at least 80% of the students should be reading at their grade level.
