Title: investigating a Change of state

Research question: How does changing time will affect the measuring temperature?
 Changing time can affect the measured temperature. Heating over time
increases the temperature as heat energy is added to the system, while cooling
over time decreases the temperature as heat energy is removed.
Hypothesis as the time increases the temperature decreases.
Variable: changing time measure temperature
Material: ice, stopwatch, beaker, thermometer, test tube and boiling water.
Safety:
Heating Safety
1) Turn off heat sources when they are not in use.
2) Point test tubes away from yourself and others when heating substances in them.
3) To avoid burns, do not handle heated glassware or materials directly. Use tongs or test-tube
holders.
4) Use a water bath to heat solids.
5) When heating with a laboratory burner, gently move the test tube over the hottest part of the
flame.
6) Do not pour hot liquids into plastic containers.
