I CLEANING PLAN

Area Preparation
Step

1
Determine the type of floor, different floors
need different steps in cleaning and polishing
floors. Prepare the necessary equipment &
items for cleaning the floor. Example:
Buckets, Vacuum/Sweeper/broom, Detergent,
Mops (Wet), Safety floor Signs, and if
Possible, wear a complete PPE (Personal
protective equipment)

Sweep/Vacuum
Step

2
Use a Vacuum or a Sweeper to remove dirt,
dust and debris on the floor. Always follow
step 1 and use different debris removing
items to remove it. If the floor is porcelain,
use a dry mop instead of a sweeper to remove
the excess dirt and debris on the corner of
each tile.

Mop and Wash

Step

3
Evenly apply detergent to the floor and use a
high-pressure floor scrub. An alternative for
that approach is using a wet mop with water
and detergent on a bucket. Make sure to
wring it frequently after using it, and also
wring it until damp but not sopping wet. Make
a pass 2 times to completely remove the
stains and excess dirt and debris on the floor.
Rinse and Dry
Step

4
After mopping the floor with a mix of water
and detergent, use clear/hot water to rinse
the floor with a mop. Do not finish rinsing the
floor until you’ve successfully remove any
cleaning-solution residue. After that, wait
until it dries.

Polish
Step

5
It is rarely done after cleaning the floor and it
is used for enhancing the appearance of the
floor, removing scratches, and making it stain
resistant. Different floors require different
polishing materials. Floor wax is commonly
used in polishing cement, red cement, wood
and marble. By Grinding/Honing you can
remove scratches on the floor.
