Instructions: Rewatch the video, then answer the following questions and explain some ideas of

Sherry Turkle. Your answers must be 3-4 sentences only per question.👍

1. Why is the speech titled "Connected, but Alone"? Explain the implication or connection
of the title to the message/theme of the speech. What insight have you gained from the
speech?
Connectedness, in the context of Sherry Turkle’s speech, is said to be more of a symptom of the
era we currently live in. It has become something that is the effect of our, almost unlimited
access to information and connection rather than something that we sought after and feel as a
result of thriving for it. There is a good reason that online relationships and connections can be
considered superficial rather than based on reality. We have lost touch of our real world because
of the virtual world.
2. How do people have become "alone together" because of technology?
We are all in a singular space but inside our own bubbles. Although having access to information
about billions of people, there is no real connection to them. The social media space has become
a contest of outdoing one another, thus making each other focus more on the image that they
project on the internet rather than their personal achievements and connections with others.
