RECAP

Resourcefulness and management skills in creating and implementing

project plan are traits that a certain manager or individual must possess to
be successful. Resourcefulness means the ability to apply various techniques
and ways of thinking to defining, analyzing, prioritizing, finding alternatives
for and dealing with or solving challenges and problems. And Management
skills are a collection of abilities that include things such as business
planning, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, delegation, and
time management.

Figure 1, showing a
paradigm about the
relationship of project
plan, resources, and
management of skills
in the use of money,
materials, time, and
effort.

The paradigm explains how resourcefulness and management skills is

important in the success of a certain project. It also highlighted that being
resourceful requires thinking and acting in original and imaginative ways,
while stimulating the creativity of individuals and the collective creativity of
the team. The importance of this competency is that it enables individuals to
effectively handle uncertainty, problems, changes, limitations, and stressful
situations by systematically and continuously searching for new, better, and
more effective ways to make the project be successful. This is specifically
important when risks, opportunities, problems, and difficult situations arise.
LESSON
It is believed that when a certain persona has the characters of being
resourceful and could manage his/her skills, surely, he/she could easily gain
success. The best way to achieve goals is having the characters that build
someone’s trusts. In making projects or any other kinds of business, usually
character are the best tools in achieving their goals. It is said that
resourcefulness and management of skills in the use of time materials,
money, and effort is greatly explained by the paradigm.

Figure 2, the paradigm explains about the important role of

money, materials time, and effort to the success of the project.

What are the uses of money, materials, time, and effort in making or in
the management of certain project?

Money - is the purchasing power that helps one to

acquire needed goods and services.
- Use as payment for goods and services.
- One of the most important things in running
a business.
Time - this is the resource that cultivates, cooperation,
fulfillment of the prescribed duties and smart
maintenance in the success of the project.
- This is used to start and finish the work without
giving burden to the body or resentment to the
person.

Materials - may include apparatus, equipment, tools, gears,

machinery, and other physical resources that
are necessary for completing the different
processes in project management.
- Anything that serves as crude or raw matter to
be used or developed any certain type of projects.

Effort - something done by exertion or hard work.

- Is defined as the amount of work, or the number of
work units used to complete an activity.
- In simple terms, the effort is the number of hours
workers spend, focused on a particular task, to get
a certain job done.

Figure 3, an image of an output of a particular group project.

Why is it important to be resourceful?

Why are time management, money, efforts, and materials being important in
making a project?
Every project needs a schedule to meet its end date. A team and the
project manager must manage their own time to ensure that the schedule is
met. Aside from it, you can also manage the money well that is procured for
the said project. If you do not create a project schedule or do not plan the end
date, there are chances that time will go by and your project will never get
finished and there could be a loss of money, time and materials.
