Learning Module on Identify Recyclable Products/Waste Materials Made of Wood,
Metal, Paper, Plastic, and others.

This Self-Learning Module was collaboratively designed, developed and

reviewed by educators from the Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its
Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A.
Agustin, in partnership with the City Government of Pasig through its mayor,

LESSON
Recyclable Products/Waste Materials Made Of Wood,
Metal, Paper, Plastic,Glass,Bamboo

Nowadays, we are suffering environmental dilemmas such as global

warming, flash floods ,Covid19 Pandemic and etc. One of the causes of these
problems is the misbehavior of the people toward waste management. Some
people are reckless in throwing their garbage. They do not think of the
possible results of their actions on the environment as well as on health.
Waste management is the collection, transport, processing or disposal,
managing and monitoring of waste materials. The term usually relates to
materials produced by human activity, and process is generally undertaken
to reduce their effect on health, the environment or aesthetics.
Waste materials is any solid, liquid or gaseous emitted by the people. It
could either be biodegradable or non-biodegradable waste. Recyclable waste
materials can be can be made of wood, plastic bottle, bottle, rubber, paper,
bamboo,metal and others.
WOOD
The most important benefits of wood
recycling is saving trees. Wood recycling also
helps to reduce environmental impact by
preventing less trash from ending uphill’s, which
in turn means reduce air and water pollution.

PLASTIC
Plastic has a number of properties that
make it a highly useful materials. It is
transparent, flexible, resistant to water and
electricity. It is generally lightweight and strong
and can be molded into shape of all sizes.
RUBBER
Rubber takes a very long time to
decompose and it is great for the environment
and helps useful products such as rubber mulch
for playgrounds or even for planting plants.

METAL Metal is also good to recycle. Scrap metal

recycling involves the recovery and processing of
scrap metal from end to life products or structures
as well as from manufacturing scrap, so that it can
be introduced as a raw material in the productions
of new products.

BAMBOO
Other recyclable waste materials is
bamboo. Bamboo is good to recycle because it is
very durable, flexible and elastic

PAPER
Paper is one the material that can be
easily recycled. Recycled paper is paper that was
made from paper and paper products that has
already been used and recovered. People need to
take their time and save the paper products so
that they can be recycled. Paper recycling begins
with us. We all need to show our interest in
recycling to make it successful
GLASS
This is the easiest materials to be reuse or recycle.
Glasses are broken in small pieces and melted
down to then shape into new products. There are
many products or projects that can produced out
of used glass containers and bottle. Example of
these are wine bottle ,candle holder, glass bottle
sand art, vases organizers, container for
condiments, decorating for interior and exterior
part of the house.
