2.Strengths
From my own experience, after going through three forums, I think that I try
quite hard to find news that supports my idea, which helps me so much in the
forum. First, I carefully listen to the opinions of other groups, and then I identify
those who disagree with my role so that I can work against them and support my
idea. Secondly, I speak louder so that other groups can listen to my viewpoint.
In addition, I also listen to my teammates' opinions and contribute my own to
help them. Thirdly, after listening to my teammate's opinion, I also raised my
voice to support their idea and to counter the opponents' opinion in the forum.
Finally, at the end of the forum, I also listened to my teacher's opinion about our
weaknesses, and I tried to fix them in the following forum. Overall, in all
aspects of the subject, I think that I try my best to complete my own roles in the
hardest way possible.
3.Weaknesses
In contrast with my strengths, I think that I have many weaknesses. First of all, I
think that I'm still too timid and shy to raise my voice in the forum. Secondly, I
just speak in simple sentences, and I also make grammar mistakes when I speak.
In addition, I think that sometimes I speak too fast and my pronunciation is
incorrect, which prevents other groups from listening to my opinion. Thirdly,
my reaction to other group opinions can be quite numb at times, preventing me
from expressing my own ideas against the opponents' arguments. Aside from
that, I believe my critical thinking is still lacking, so I sometimes just listen to
other group opinions, even if they are diametrically opposed to mine, and I can't
say anything when the other team shares their opinions that are diametrically
opposed to mine. Finally, I think that if I tried harder and practiced my critical
thinking more, I could improve the quality of the support I provided for my role
in the past forum—that is the thing that I regretted most.
4.Lessons
I've learned a lot since studying this subject. First of all, my critical thinking has
developed in a very positive way. Before learning about this subject, I only read
the news and had no idea about the objections raised by the opinions expressed
in the news. Furthermore, the subject helps me apply my critical thinking skills.
Secondly, the subject enhances my ability to work in a group in a productive and
effective way. This skill will help me so much in the future when I work as part
of a group or company. In addition, after working with the group on this subject,
my leadership and responsibilities have increased so much. Thirdly, after
attending three forums on three different issues in modern society, my
knowledge has greatly expanded. I understand more about the issues that
humans face in modern life. Finally, all the skills I have learned in this subject
will help me in many aspects of my life, such as working as a part of a group in
an effective way and using critical thinking to raise my voice against other
opposing ideas.
