At the end of the discussion, students should be able to:
I. OBJECTIVE:
 Find the distinctions between the words that are
connected.
 Identify how the related words functions in a
sentence.
 Determine the correct words to complete the
sentence.

truthfulness of the ideas presented in the material viewed (EN9VC-

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings “Good morning, Sir!”
“Good morning, class!”
“How are you today?” “We’re good, Sir.”
“I am glad to hear that!”

2. Prayer
“Before we begin our lesson this morning let us
feel the presence of the lord, to be led by Mr.
Intelligent.”
“Mr. Intelligent, kindly start your personal (Paul stand up and lead the prayer)
prayer”?
“Thank you, Mr. Intelligent!”
(The students arrange their chairs, and pick up trashes around them.)
3. Classroom Management
“Before we begin, kindly arrange your chairs and
pick up the trash around you and also I would like
you to take good attention for our discussion.”
4. Checking of Attendance “Yes, Sir!”
“Now, I will check your attendance. If our last
name is called, your respond shall be your first
name. Is that clear?”

(Start checking the attendance)

“No one is absent today.”


B. Review (Answer may vary)
“Before we start let us recall on what we have
discussed last meeting.”
“Politeness, can you share something to the class
about our last lesson?”
“Very well said. Thank you, Politeness!”
C. Motivation “Okay, Sir.”
“Before we start our new lesson this morning, let
us have first a pretest activity.”
“I have here 5 items, and this activity is a matching
type. “

Instruction: Match the following related words.

“Okay, let us check all their answers.” (Students were confident of their answers)
“Very good! All of them got the correct answers”
(Students celebrate)
D. Discussion
“I think you already have an idea of what our
lesson is for today.”

“So, our lesson for today is about Spelling Related


Words.”

“At the end of the discussion, you are expected to:

 Find the distinctions between the words that are


connected.
 Identify how the related words functions in a
sentence.
 Determine the correct words to complete the
sentence.

“Again, our lesson is about Spelling Related


Words."

“Spelling related words are words that can be


related in meaning but may differ in function and
spelling”

“I will give you an example and these words are


related in meaning”

“These words are, adolescent and adolescence.”

“In order for you to determine or to know their


differences, I used these words in a sentence”

(Present the example)

“1st sentence: During adolescence, a boy becomes


more self-conscious.

2nd sentence: An adolescent boy is self-conscious.”

“In the example, the first word refers to that period


of life from puberty to maturity, while the second
refers to that quality or characteristic of someone in
adolescence.”

“These words differ in function and spelling.


Adolescence is a noun, and it ends wit -ence, while
adolescent is an adjective, and it ends with -ent.”

“Take note class, that if you want to successfully


determine the words that are related with each
other, you should know if it is an adjective, a verb
and noun. Understood?”

“Can you give me some examples you know?”

“We already have a volunteer. Charity, go ahead.”

Affixes are

“Noted, Sir.”

word is existence, which is a noun.”

“If I am going to use these words in a sentence this


will be its construction.”

“She believes that beautiful park really do exist.”

“I think we should improve existent parks rather


than create new ones.”

“The existence of a park is very important”


“Yes, Sir.”
“Do you have any questions, class?”

“Do you want game class?”

“This game is like a quiz bee, you will be grouped


and each group will consist of five members. You (Group 3 raises their flashcard first)
need to raise your flashcards and those group who
will be going to raise their flashcards first, will be
the one that will be accommodated. However, if the
answer is incorrect the other group has a chance to (Group 1 raises their flashcard first)
steal.”

“The first group will be the first row and so on.”

“Please form a circle, and pay attention with the (Group 1 raises their flashcard first)
words that I will sharing. Understood?”

“The group who will win this game will receive


reward.” (Group 1 celebrate)

“The first question is, what is the related word of


present?”

“Correct! It’s presentation and also presenting.”

“The second question is, what is the related word of


culmination?”

“Okay, we already have an answer. It’s (Enjoyable stand up and answer the question)
culmination. “Our lesson is spelling related words.”
“For the last question, what is the related word of
personal?”
(Joyful stand up and answer the question)
“Let’s see the answer of group 1. Their answer is
“Spelling related words are words that is related in meaning but
correct. Meaning, the group 1 is our winner and
differ in function and spelling.”

E. Generalization

“Now, let us do a recap if you still remember our


lesson today.

“I would like to call Enjoyable to say a few words


about what is our topic?”

“Wow! Very good!”

“What about you, Joyful? How do you define


spelling related words?”

“Very well said, Joyful!”

“Do you have any clarification?”


F. Application
(Group Activity)

I have differentiated task for you to work on. We


will be having the same groupings.
In a whole sheet of paper write a sentence that has
two or three related words.

Then present is to the class.

Instruction: Fill in each blank with the word


that best completes the sentence and identify
how the related words functions in a
sentence. Two points each item.
