VISION OF THE INSTITUTION
The Vision of the Goldenstate College which is the central inspiration of the organization is: An economically, socially and morally developed human resource who can
respond to the needs of the society, locally, nationally and globally. It is committed to giving the youth access to quality education whereby students are prepared to make
better decisions in life, provided with fitting opportunities to advance, develop and benefit themselves and the society.

1. Apply knowledge of computing, science, and mathematics appropriate to the discipline

COURSE NAME: GEN ELEC 2 - GENERAL ELECTIVE 2 COURSE CREDIT: 3 units PREREQUISITE: 3rd year standing

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course shall include pedagogical content, knowledge and skills in technology, and livelihood education necessary in teaching and learning in the elementary
level.

Selected topics in home economics, technology and livelihood education shall form a major part of the course. Experiential learning approach shall be the focus of this
course.

COURSE OUTCOME

Upon the completion of this course, students will be able to:


1. Demonstrate in-depth understanding in pedagogical content knowledge and skills in technology and livelihood education.
2. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in teaching and learning TLE in the elementary levels.
3. Formulate schemes that will strengthen instructions in Technology and Livelihood Education.
4. Design assessment tools for teaching and learning TLE.
5. Identify the components of a computer system.
6. Use Common business applications software.
7. Explain the impact of computers on society.
8. Identify computer careers.
9. Identify fundamental programming structures.
10. Identify ethical use of computers.

This course uses varied teaching strategies such as lecture, oral presentation, brainstorming, case studies, problem-based learning and web-based technology learning.
Students must actively participate in all activities to come up with most effective learning strategies and techniques. Instructors are also expected to utilize the most ideal
strategies to be applied in the entire learning process.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
1. Attendance in lecture sessions
2. Active participation in class discussions and board works
3. On-time submission of projects(case studies) and assignments
4. Summative quiz and actual examination

ATTENDANCE POLICY
1. Student is required to attend classes daily according to schedule.
2. Fifteen (15) minutes late is equal to one (1) absent.
3. Student is expected to proper and appropriate manner, inside or outside classroom, with or without instructor’s presence.
4. Student has a maximum of ten (10) days allowable absences for the entire semester. In cases the student committed more than the allowable absences, the
instructor shall set a Student-Parent-Instructor conference with the department head.

5. If absences still continue even after Student-Parent-Instructor conference through department, the instructor may set a Parent-Guidance counselor conference in
the guidance services office.
6. Severe absences more than allowable days, non-action taken from parents/ guardians may result to DROPPED or FAILURE DUE TO ABSENCES of the student
from admission of the course.
7. Absences acquired due to illness, accident, health related cases or life threatening, the student is asked to submit medical certificate whether in-confinement or
out-patient duly signed by the attending physician as evidence for the approval of excused absences before the instructor will admit the student to the class.

PGRADING SYSTEM
The quarterly grades will be determined from: attendance (10%, attendance will be check regularly), written works (20%, quizzes, assignments), performance
task (40%, laboratory exercises and case studies/projects) and examination (30% written/actual).
