TITLE: HOW TECHNOLOGY HAS INFLUENCED YOUR DAILY LIFE AND

INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS

Technological advances have brought us online banking, smart cars, smart TV,
lightning-fast computers and virtual reality. However, they have also brought us cyber
warfare, hackers, identity theft, cyber stalking, and a host of other bad things. Also, people
started to become lazy and stupider. Long gone are the days when people flocked to libraries
– if only to do research for school assignments. Nowadays, one can find everything on the
Internet. Instead of playing soccer or playing tag, kids play video games for hours.
Bicycles have been replaced by e-bikes or electric bicycles. Technology makes life
easier and more enjoyable, we can't argue with that. However, they make us all sit in silence
most of the day. And, as we know, a sedentary lifestyle has consequences for health. People
are slowly forgetting that physical activity is an important part of a balanced and healthy
lifestyle. As a result, technological advances have a negative effect on our health.
In practical life, technology will not produce the same feelings of social connectivity in
life unlike social interactions in that people who feel more connected to others have lower
levels of anxiety and depression. Additionally, research shows that they also have higher self-
esteem, appear more cooperative, and have lower mental health problems (Seppala, 2016).
And also the positive influence of social interaction improves health through people's living
habits (Umberson & Montez, 2010). In conclusion, it all depends on how you use technology.
It is designed to make our lives easier, but should not replace physical exercise, walking,
reading, and socializing with real humans.
