INT: College Classroom – (Day)

(Panic Attack)

We open with a PAN IN CLOSE-UP of the main character

(MADDY’S) foot. She is wearing trainers. The heel of
her foot is raising up and down because she is
bouncing her knee. Cut to a PAN IN CLOSE-UP of
(MADDY’S) hand. It is laying firmly on a table, and
she is scratching the surface of the table with her
index finger. She is silently having a Panic attack.

(ONE SHOT)
THE CAMERA STARTS BEHIND HER. We can see (MADDY)
slouched back in her chair. Her hair is blonde and
lays against the back of her oversized hoodie. to the
right of her is a round table with chairs lined
around it but no one is sitting there. Just (MADDY).
Her right hand is still pressed on the table
scratching the surface. There are students scattered
around her talking and being social.

THE CAMERA SLOWLY PANS IN AND CIRCLES AROUND HER LEFT

SIDE REVEALING HER FACE. She appears calm but her
fast-pacing heartbeat is all that fills our ears as
she breathes heavily.

THE CAMERA CONTINUES TO PULL BACK. Revealing her full

body slouched in the chair in the centre of the
frame. She is wearing oversized tracksuit bottoms.
The bell goes off signalling the end of class. She
grabs her backpack which lies next to her leg and
runs out of the classroom.

The film title “ANXIETY” appears above her chair

after she exits the frame.

CUTTING TO BLACK.

INT: Girls Bathroom - (Day)

(MEDICATION)
FLASHING SEQUENCE OF MULTIPLE SHOTS. An OVERHEAD SHOT
of a bathroom sink. (MADDY) turns on the sink tap. A
SIDE ANGLE shot of (MADDY) splashing her face with
water.

CUT BACK TO THE SINK OVERHEAD. (MADDY) shakes a

bottle of anxiety medication onto the palm of her
hand and catches two tablets from the bottle.

CUT TO A SHOT OF THE BATHROOM MIRROR ABOVE THE SINK.

The lighting is green with hues of blue, a cold dingy
unsanitary bathroom. We see (MADDY) in the mirror's
reflection. She throws the tablets into her mouth
knocking her head backwards to swallow them. She
stares at herself in the mirror as she breathes
heavily through her mouth. The water she threw on her
face drips down her cheeks. She is arched forward
clenching the bathroom sink with her hands.

CUT TO A CLOSE-UP OF (MADDY) Clenching the sides of

the bathroom sink. Her fast-paced heartbeat fills our
ears.

CLOSE-UP OF (MADDY’S) FACE.

(MADDY) Squints her eyes and pulls a painful smile as
she grabs and squeezes her hoodie where her heart is.
CLOSE-UP (MADDY) SQUEEZING HOODIE.

CUTS BACK TO (MADDY’S) FACE.

She lets out a deep exhale through her mouth as her
heart rate begins to slow. She slowly releases her
tense grip of the sink.

(BULLY’S)

CUT TO A MEDIUM WIDE-SHOT OF THE BATHROOM FLOOR/WALL.

(MADDY) walks into the middle of the frame and slides
down the bathroom wall. She hits the floor with her
knees tucked into her chest as her face falls into
the palms of her hands.

CUT TO A SIDE ANGLE SHOT OF (MADDY)

She lifts her head out of her hands and rests it
against the wall behind her, looking up at the
ceiling as she exhales through her mouth once more.
She hears mumbling in the distance coming towards the
bathroom. Her eyes widen in fear as she gets up to
run into a bathroom stall.

BULLY NUMBER 1

I bet Shes in here.

BULLY NUMBER 2

Crying by herself?

BULLY NUMBER 1

Hahaha...

CUT TO A WIDE-SHOT Bathroom stall in foreground

(MADDY) in background. (MADDY) gets up grabs her
backpack and runs towards the stall. She swings the
door open runs inside and slams it behind her. The
main door into the bathroom open’s, The bully’s walk
in.

BULLY NUMBER 1

Told you.
(BULLY NUMBER 1) bangs on bathroom stall door.

CUT TO MEDIUM WIDE-SHOT (MADDY) sitting on the floor

with her back against the door holding it shut. Her
body jolts as the door continues to bang. (MADDY)
visually frightened.

BULLY NUMBER 1

Maddy, we know you're in there!

BULLY NUMBER 2

Yeah, Come out! We just wanna talk.

 Both chuckle quietly.

CUT BACK TO WIDE-SHOT OUTSIDE OF BATHROOM STALL.

(BULLY NUMBER 1) signals to (BULLY NUMBER 2) to go
into the stall next door.

WIDE-SHOT INSIDE OF BATHROOM STALL NEXT DOOR.

(BULLY NUMBER 2) walks in and stands on top of
toilet.

BULLY NUMBER 1

We wanted to warn you about the thunderstorm

that’s coming!

CLOSE-UP (BULLY NUMBER 2) pulls out water bottle from

her handbag and unscrews bottle cap.

CUTS BACK TO WIDE-SHOT OUTSIDE OF BATHROOM STALL.

BULLY NUMBER 1
Oh No! It’s here now!

CUT TO MEDIUM WIDE-SHOT. (MADDY) looks up. Her eyes

widen.

CUT TO MEDIUM WIDE-SHOT OF BULLY NUMBER TWO’S ARM

HANGING OVER BATHROOM STALL. Starting to poor water
onto (MADDY)

BULLY NUMBER 2
RAIN INCOMING!

CUT BACK TO WIDE-SHOT OF BULLY NUMBER 1 OUTSIDE OF

BATHROOM STALL. (BULLY NUMBER 1) Shaking and banging
bathroom stall door.

CUT TO MEDIUM WIDE-SHOT. (MADDY) grabs her backpack

and puts it on top of her head to shelter herself
from the water as it poor's onto her. She violently
jolts as (BULLY NUMBER 1) shakes the stall door.

BULLY NUMBER 1
 TRY NOT TO GET WET MADDY!

Both bully’s laugh violently.

CUT TO WIDE-SHOT INIDE OF BATHROOM STALL NEXT DOOR.

(BULLY NUMBER 2) elegantly jumps down off toilet and
walks out of the stall putting the water bottle back
into her handbag.

CUT TO WIDE-SHOT OUTSIDE OF BATHROOM STALL. (BULLY

NUMBER 1) Smiles and high fives (BULLY NUMBER 2) as
they both laugh violently. They begin to walk out of
bathroom.

BULLY NUMBER 1

Have fun drying off.

They both continue to laugh as they exit the
bathroom. The door slams behind them.

CUT TO MEDIUM WIDE-SHOT. (MADDY) drops her bag down

onto her lap. She hits the back of her head on the
stall door and sighs with sadness and relief. The
bell rings signalling the end of the day.

CUTS TO BLACK.
