INTRODUCTION

This unit aims to expose you to the task of a registered class teacher. If you are already
a practising educator, this unit will help you to reflect on how you can improve your
classroom administration strategy but if you are still learning to become an Educator
this unit will introduce you to how to manage school finances and equip you with
financial administration skills. You will also learn about filing systems which will provide
what is expected of you as an educator. This will therefore be helping manage the
classroom through effective administration tools.

The responsibilities of a registered class teacher are many and sometimes it is difficult for
register class teachers to cope with all their administrative task. Study the picture below
carefully. This picture shows that this classroom is chaotic and there are some
recommendations that need to make to apply appropriate administration activities to bring order
to this classroom.

Technology is everywhere and the classroom is no different. When you hear the word
technology possible think of computers and cell phones. Technology refers to any tool
that we use to make our lives easier. Look around your classroom and make a list of
the kinds of technologies that help you with classroom administration.

Information Communications Technologies (ICT) might have changed your classroom


administration tasks. Again look around your classroom and make a list of ICT that
you are using for your classroom administration.
