She and The World

By: E.M

In the realm of fleeting hours, where memories unfurl,

Lived a girl named Denise, with a heart that softly swirled,
She danced in the sunbeams, a child of innocence and play,
But the shadows of tomorrow grew with every passing day.

Denise, with eyes like twilight, gazed at the setting sun,

She felt the years rush by, like a river on the run,
Time, a silent thief, stole her moments, swift and sly,
And in the quiet of the night, she often wondered why.

She longed for endless summers, where laughter knew no end,

Yet the seasons changed, and she lost a dear, cherished friend,
Her youth, like a fragile bloom, began to slowly fade,
And in the mirror's reflection, a new path was laid.

She feared the grown-up world, with its worries and its weight,
The dreams that once danced now felt distant and sedate,
But the clock, relentless, ticked on with steadfast might,
And Denise, in her heart, began to yearn for flight.
She wished to seize the moment, to slow the hands of time,
To relive those precious days, when life was in its prime,
Yet she found that in her fears, she had started to grow,
To embrace the unknown, to let her spirit glow.

Through the uncertainty of change, she learned to find her way,

To let go of the past and welcome each new day,
For in the passage of time, she found strength to rise,
To embrace the grown-up world with grace in her eyes.

Denise, once afraid, now stands with head held high,

In the symphony of life, she's learned to touch the sky,
She's still that child of wonder, with dreams that softly soar,
But she's also a woman, ready to explore and more.

So, let us all remember, as the years go by so fast,

To cherish every moment, for they'll forever last,
For within the heart of Denise, a lesson we can glean,
That growing up is part of life, a journey yet unseen.
