STUDENT MEDICAL COVER

MEDICAL COVER PERIOD: 16/05/2022 TO 23/08/2022

Medical cover is mandatory to all students in the university except Post Graduate Students, Evening
program students and those with personal medical covers who must present evidence: by a letter either
from the insurance company or the sponsor’s employer. The letter should contain both in and outpatient
details and MUST be submitted to the HR offices (original and a copy) for receiving in either campus
within one month i.e. from 16th May 2022 -15th June 2022. LETTERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
AFTER THE DEADLINE.

CONSENTING TO MEMBERSHIP IN THE AAR MEDICAL ACTIVATION FORM WILL


SUPERCEDE ANY REQUEST MADE FOR EXEMPTION.

Broker: CHANCERY WRIGHT INSURANCE BROKERS LTD
Premium: Kshs. 4,350 /- with effect from 16th May, 2022 to 23rd August 2022.

Cover Limits per Student:


 Inpatient - Kshs 1,000,000/-
 Outpatient - Kshs 50,000/-
 Dental - Kshs 12,000/-
 Optical - Kshs 17,000/-
 Pre-existing, All Chronic, HIV/AIDS and Covid 19 conditions are covered up to Kshs.400,000/-
per student within Inpatient
 Last expense of Kshs.100,000/- per student within Inpatient.
 Psychiatry cases covered up to Kshs.250,000/- within Inpatient benefit
 Inpatient dental/optical covered up to Kshs.100,000/- each within Inpatient
 Maternity cover for married students Kshs.50,000/- within inpatient cover
 Annual checkups up to Kshs.5,000/- per student within Outpatient once a year
 Reimbursement will be 100%
 STUDENTS WILL BE ON MTIBA PLATFORM (i.e. via phone access), hence it is cardless
a) Optical –Frames will be caped to a maximum of Kshs.5,000
b) The cover allows access to all major hospitals for outpatient services except Nairobi
Hospital, Aga Khan Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa, Gertrude’s Hospital, Mater
Hospital, M P Shah Hospital, Karen Hospital, Mombasa Hospital, AAR Healthcare
Clinics and all their outlets. All services are restricted at The Nairobi Hospital.

Service Providers:
A comprehensive list of ALL the service providers for both in and outpatient will be emailed to all students
through the university’s student email accounts.
